Mận hậu ngâm nước muối loãng khoảng 30 phút rồi rửa sạch. Rắc 1 lớp đường vào hũ. Dùng dao khứa nhiều đường xung quanh trái mận rồi cho vào hũ. Cứ 1 lớp đường 1 lớp mận, xóc điều cho mận áo hết đường nhé! Đậy nắp để nơi thoáng mát.
Khi mận teo lại, đường tan hết thành nước có màu đỏ đẹp mắt thì đỏ mận và nước mận vào nồi đun sôi cho nước gần sệt lại thì vớt mận ra làm mứt. Tiếp tục đun và khuấy đều cho nước mận sệt lại thành siro là được.
